Blog Challenge "100 posts in 100 days" Post #15
A funny post is due after the last couple of serious ones I've posted. These are a few of my favorite funny moments with people I love (back when they were little of course).
My niece Kennady on confusing "pecan" with "leprechaun" when referring to her favorite tree. I still call that tree in my front yard a leprechaun tree!
My nephew Corbin stole the last piece of pizza out of my niece's hand so I made him give it back. He gave it back and then while hugging her and apologizing for stealing it in the first place, he grabs it back and shoves the whole thing in his mouth so that he won't have to give it back again.
Again, my nephew Corbin received a Buzz Lightyear for Christmas when he was about 3 years old and when he opened it he looked up with the most sincere look a 3-year-old could muster and said: "I've waited my whole life for this!"
My niece Kortney was around 10 years old when she asked me if I held her when she was a baby and I said: "well of course!" Then she asked me what I did with her. I sarcastically responded with the only worthy response a silly question deserved "I dropped you on your head." She simply said "oh" and walked away. More than a year later Kortney sat chatting with my sister and I and out of the blue she looks at my sister and says "mom, did you know that when I was a baby, Aunt Carrie dropped me on my head?"
On a hot August day my son Chandler wore flip-flops to his pre-k class and at some point, during the day one of the flip-flops broke so when I picked him up I had to carry him to the car. I looked at him and said: "man buddy you are getting really big, I won't be able to carry you like this much longer, you are really heavy!" with a straight face he looked at me and said "mom, you know why I'm so heavy, right?" and I said "no, why?" he sighed and said "it's because my brain, it's just SOOOO big." I simply agreed and we got in the car.
